How much do you charge for a website?

Apart from your fees are there any other charges to get my website online?
Yes. Every website domain name (e.g. www.deakindesign.com) has to be registered and hosted on the web. There are annual charges of approximately €65 (for a .com address) or €85 (for a .ie address).

Can you help organise the domain name registration and hosting?
Yes. I use an Irish hosting company and can help you with the registration process so that the registration is in your own name. It is a very simple process that involves filling in a form online.

You also offer a photography service - why is the photography so important?
Generic stock photography images can be purchased and used in your website but it is more appropriate to use original photography which will best represent who you are and what you do. I can take photographs that will enhance the look and relevance of your website.

What if I can supply good quality images that I want to use on my website?
This will reduce the overall cost but the images should be of good enough quality to best represent your product or service.

I already have a website but I want to have it re-designed. Can you help with this?
Yes. Depending on how much of your old site you want to keep it would probably be more efficient to start again from scratch but the same images and text can be used where appropriate.

Is it possible to update my website with new images and news during the year?
Yes. The service includes monthly updates during the year for the first year of your new website. You just need to email the details and the changes will usually be made within 48 hours. After the first year there is an annual maintenance fee of €95, which entitles you to monthly updates. This includes updates to the text and images on the existing site and not the addition of new pages, which would involve additional charges.

How do I get the process started?
Please contact me with your requirements and I will get back to you with a quote. A deposit of 20% is required before I start work on your site. This can be paid by credit card through PayPal or by cheque. If I visit your business to take photographs I would collect the deposit then.

How long will it take before my new website is ready to go online?
This depends on the size of the site and whether you have all the text and images ready. Once I have all the photographs and text a 6-10 page website would normally be completed and ready to go online within a week.
